The LEGO Firm History

The history of this LEGO firm begins in 1932 when ever Ole Kirk Christiansen, a Danish carpenter, decided to begin a business trading his wooden toys door to door in the town of Billund, Denmark. He known as his new business « Lego » – a combination of two Danish terms, « leg godt,  » which necessitated « play very well.  »

In 1958, the company’s founder, Godtfred Kristiansen, copyrighted a system meant for coupling the plastic stones that would afterward become generally known as PROFANO « Automatic Binding Bricks. inches The invention allowed LEGO to create more diverse and intricate toys.

After that, LEGO expanded its offerings and began to cater to both boys and girls. It released a line of « Minifigures » in the mid-1970s that contained human characters with posable arms, and also marketed earrings sets designed for young girls.

A second expansion in 1979 saw the development of LEGO Space sets, producing astronaut minifigures, rockets and spaceships, among other well-liked themes. In 1999, the LEGO Group entered the Star Wars market, launching places featuring the X-wing jet fighter and WRAP Fighter.

For the reason that the company grew, it had to increase its ability to present new products quickly and efficiently. To this end, it hired management agent Jorgen Vig Knudstorp.

He helped this company cut down on inventory and reduce creation time. He encouraged the business to build relationships with important toy corporations, including Aim for, Wal-Mart and Toys ‘R’ Us.

This individual also launched LEGO Choices, an online community where fans could release plans for new Lego sets they wanted to look at produced. This allowed LEGO to test the benefit of new creative ideas and gain feedback ahead of committing to them.
